Makuzu wares were produced in Japan during the Meiji-era, and only three artworks have been designated as Important Cultural Properties of Japan (as of December 15, 2022). It is not widely known that two of these were produced by Kozan Miyagawa I in Yokohama. Kozan Miyagawa I (pseudonym: Makuzu Kozan) was one of the leading potters of the Meiji-era.
